Terms of use
Strak is a self-help tool, not medical care. Use it as you see fit, keep your purchases to yourself, and know that it comes with no guarantees. The details follow.
1. Agreement
By downloading or using Strak you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Strak is published by an individual developer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("we", "us").
2. What Strak is, and is not
Strak is a habit-tracking and self-help app: a counter, a breathing tool, short reads, games and reminders. It is not a medical device, therapy, counselling, or a substitute for any of them. Nothing in the app is medical or psychological advice. If you are in distress, or if compulsive behaviour is affecting your health, relationships or safety, please speak to a doctor or a licensed professional.
3. Who may use it
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if higher. The app's content concerns adult behaviour and is rated for adults in the app stores.
4. Your data
Everything you enter stays on your device, as described in our privacy policy. That also means we cannot recover it. Back up your phone if the data matters to you; if you delete the app, change phones without a backup, or use "Erase all data", it is gone.
5. Free and Pro
The free version includes the streak counter, check-ins, one urge-mode session a day, two reads and the first week of daily notes. Pro unlocks the rest, as described in the app at the time of purchase. Pro is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, through Apple's App Store or Google Play.
- Prices are shown in the store before you buy and may vary by country and change over time; changes never apply to a purchase you have already made.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.
- Pro is tied to your store account. Use "Restore purchase" on a new phone signed in with the same account.
- Lifetime means for as long as Strak is available on your platform. We intend that to be a long time, but we cannot promise forever.
6. Accountability partner
If you add a partner, you are responsible for having their consent to contact them and for what you send. The app only opens WhatsApp with a neutral message; you choose whether to send it.
7. Acceptable use
Do not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or its content (text, reads, images, games) outside of normal personal use, and do not use it in any unlawful way. The Strak name, logo and content are ours.
8. No warranty
Strak is provided "as is". We do not promise that it will be error-free, always available, or that it will help you achieve any particular result. Breaking a habit is your work; the app is a tool.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Changes and termination
We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date. You may stop using the app at any time; we may discontinue it with reasonable notice, in which case active subscriptions will not renew.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, without affecting mandatory consumer protections where you live.
