Privacy policy
The short version: Strak has no accounts and no server. Everything you type into the app stays on your phone. We do not collect, see, store or sell any of it. Deleting the app deletes your data.
Who we are
Strak is published by an individual developer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You can reach us at hello@strakapp.com. "We", "us" and "Strak" in this policy mean that developer.
What the app stores, and where
Strak keeps the following on your device only, in the app's private storage: your streak start date, relapse log and notes, daily check-ins (urge level, triggers, notes), your chosen voice and appearance, your "why" note, your accountability partner's name and phone number if you add one, reminder and night-mode settings, which milestones you have seen, and whether Pro is unlocked. None of this is transmitted to us or to anyone else. We have no way to read it.
What we do not do
- No account, email, password or sign-in of any kind.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs that send data about you.
- No sale, sharing or transfer of personal data, because we never receive any.
- No access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos or location. The accountability partner is a number you type in yourself.
Things that leave your phone, and why
Payments. Pro is sold through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the transaction and your payment details under their own privacy policies; we never see your card. To check whether a purchase is active, the app may use RevenueCat, a subscription service, which receives an anonymous device identifier and the purchase receipt, not your name or any content from the app. RevenueCat's policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Messaging your partner. If you tap "Text someone" in urge mode, the app opens WhatsApp on your phone with a short, neutral message pre-filled. The message is sent by WhatsApp from your account, only when you press send, and is governed by WhatsApp's policies. Strak does not see or store the conversation.
Sharing a milestone. The share card is an image created on your device. It leaves your phone only if you choose an app to share it with.
Reminders. Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server is involved.
This website
strakapp.com is a static site hosted on Netlify. Netlify's servers record ordinary access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) as any web host does; see netlify.com/privacy. We do not add cookies, analytics or tracking to the site.
Children
Strak is intended for adults and is rated accordingly in the app stores. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and because the app collects nothing, there is nothing to collect.
Deleting your data
Use "Erase all data" in Settings, or delete the app. Both remove everything Strak stored. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and nothing to export; your data never existed anywhere but your phone.
Your rights
Under UAE law and laws such as the GDPR you have rights over personal data a company holds about you. Strak holds none, so those rights are satisfied by default. If you have a question or believe this policy is inaccurate, email hello@strakapp.com and we will answer within 30 days.
Changes
If the app ever starts collecting data, for example for an optional backup feature, we will update this page, change the effective date above, and ask for your permission in the app before anything is sent. The current version is always at strakapp.com/privacy.
